By Raising a Cup for Hourglass, you will be helping to raise awareness of the importance of Safer Ageing. Any funds raised will help us to continue offering vital support to older victims of abuse across the United Kingdom.
Host Your Event Your Way
Whether it’s morning coffee, tea, or a glass of fizz, choose whatever suits you best for your event. To assist you in planning, we have a handy guide that you might find useful.
Register your event/sign up as a host: By doing this, you can download all the necessary materials to make your event as smooth and successful as possible. While you don't need to inform us of your event's date, sharing it helps us with planning and promoting your activity. Register Now.
Start spreading the word: Let as many people as possible know what you're doing and where it's happening. You can create an online fundraising page through JustGiving or simply ask for donations on the day. If possible, give yourself a few weeks to share the details.
Utilise our helpful resources: We offer suggested recipes, cake toppers, printable bunting, sponsorship forms, and judging forms. All of these can be printed from your support pack once registered, or you can reach out to us via email at fundraising@wearehourglass.org.
On the Day
Most importantly, have fun! Make use of our downloadable resources to enhance your event space.
Encourage attendees to donate using our Raise A Cup QR code, which suggests a donation of £3 – that's less than a cup of coffee and cake at a café, and far more enjoyable!
Don’t Forget...!
Ensure you have enough change.
Have you considered specific dietary needs?
Capture and share photos on social media, and don’t forget to tag us: @wearehourglass #communitea #raiseacupforhourglass
Every penny you raise contributes to creating a safer society for older individuals, free from abuse, while helping us combat the harm, abuse, and exploitation of older people in the UK.
After the Event
The simplest way to send us your donations is through our website or via bank transfer. If you need our bank details, just send us an email, or click on the donation page here.
Please email us to let us know how much you raised, and we will send you a Raise A Cup thank-you on behalf of all the older people you have supported.
